This month we’ll take a virtual hike into the Southern California natural landscape for an afternoon with Tasting Menu. The LA-based trio of Tim Feeney, Cody Putman, and Cassia Streb performs an environmental improvisation alongside powerlines, airplanes, and a lone jogger. The group embeds itself into the site, hiding in the sonic crevices and highlighting the sounds that are already present with musical responses using bells, small radios, ball bearings, spinning tubes, cardboard boxes, and other sundries.
The art for this month is by JG Quintel, a visual artist and animator best known for creating the animated TV shows Regular Show and Close Enough. JG joined Tasting Menu on the filming day and sketched the group as they performed. JG’s artwork is being offered as a 4”x6” limited edition, hand numbered and signed, linocut print.
